Hi, I’m Saifudheen Sidheeq – a Senior Network Project Engineer
with 13+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking,
security and virtualisation.
I currently work as a Network Project Engineer in an enterprise
environment, designing and deploying solutions across Palo Alto,
FortiGate, Cisco, MikroTik and pfSense. Most of what I write on
this blog comes directly from real problems I’ve solved on the job
or in my home lab – not from reading documentation.
My home lab runs KVM, Proxmox and VMware hypervisors alongside
physical and virtual instances of the firewalls and routers I write
about. Every guide on this site is tested before it’s published.
I started GetLabsDone in 2018 because I kept running into the
same frustration: vendor documentation tells you the steps but
never shows you the actual CLI output when something goes wrong,
and never explains why a config fails in a multi-vendor environment.
That gap is exactly what this blog tries to fill.
Over the years the blog has covered:
- Firewall configuration and troubleshooting – Palo Alto, FortiGate,
Cisco ASA, pfSense, OPNsense - VPN setup across multi-vendor environments – IPsec, SSL VPN,
GlobalProtect, OpenVPN - Virtualisation labs – KVM, Proxmox, VMware, Hyper-V, VirtualBox
- SDN and SD-WAN – Nuage, VXLAN, overlay/underlay concepts
- Cloud networking – AWS VPC, site-to-site VPN to AWS
- Linux server administration and automation
- Network simulation – GNS3, EVE-NG lab setups
I also teach on Udemy and run a YouTube channel (@getlabsdone) where I post video walkthroughs of
the same labs covered on this blog.

reader questions have driven some of the most useful posts on
this site.
